The Upholstery Shed is based on the outskirts of Pewsey in Wiltshire. I am a trained upholsterer who takes great pride in restoring chairs.
I launched The Upholstery Shed after ten years working for installation artist, Bruce Munro. In my role, I worked across management, design and production, often liaising with fantastic local craftsmen and makers. It was this unique insight that inspired me to train as an upholsterer in 2015. In the years since, restoring chairs has been a hobby but my own studio has now finally materialised!
I have a particular passion for mid-century furniture and source interesting chairs which I restore to sell on. I also take commissions of traditional and contemporary upholstery. It is really important to me that well made furniture is kept in in circulation so we can limit unnecessary waste and the production of new furniture.
